With the color tunable nature of LED technology, luminaires now can change their spectral power distribution (SPD) to meet human centric lighting needs. These luminaires offer benefits that are not available by normal light sources, including adjustable to human circadian rhythm, improved health and well‐being, increased productivity, and enhanced mood or alertness. This paper presents a white‐tunable LED developed by combining white LED CSPs and blue LED chips on a COB package to achieve continuous CCT‐tuning from 5700K to 2700K. This configuration offers high power density, high color rendering, and good color uniformity comparing to other white tunable LEDs on the market.
