We analyzed flicker of LCD and quantitatively evaluated it under different driving frequency with varied pixel holding ability, which points out the basis requirement for a certain LCD to achieve certain low driving frequency in terms of pixel leakage and storage capacitor. We also analyzed leakage of dual‐gate TFT bases on LTPS backplane technology and reduced it to a level of 0.14pA by properly process tuning, which makes it possible for a LTPS TFT‐LCD to support super low frequency driving. In addition, a 5‐inch FHD LTPS TFT‐LCD driven at 15Hz with unnoticeable flicker is achieved attributing to the promotion of pixel holding ability.
