Using an RGB OLED display to emulate LC display systems, we compared the video quality of global dimming 4000:1 contrast with local dimming 1000:1 contrast displays. The 4000:1 contrast system with global dimming was equal or more preferred to the 1000:1 system in 90% of the clips tested.
