A switchable lens based on a cycloidal diffractive waveplate and a polarization rotator is demonstrated. This switchable lens has advantages in fast response time, low chromatic aberration, and low operation voltage. Its potential applications include wearable virtual reality, augmented reality, and other head‐mounted display devices.
