A high dynamic range display is demonstrated using two TFT‐LCD panels. Exceedingly high contrast ratio (> 1,000,000:1), high bit‐depth (> 14 bits), and pixel‐level local dimming are achieved. Meanwhile, a polarization dependent scattering film is introduced to eliminate the Moiré effect induced by the cascaded TFT backplanes.
