The brightness and colorfulness of head mounted display(HMD) were compared with those of LCD monitor in the dark room. The psychophysical experiments found that in terms of CIECAM02 Q and M scales, HMD looks 10% brighter and 8% more colorful than LCD monitor does even though both displays have the same peak luminance and color gamut.
