A Boogie Board ® eWriter with selective erase functionality has been developed. Using an eraser stylus and a small electric field, the eWriter is capable of erasing portions of a written image without affecting the image meant to be retained. The optical and erase performance of this eWriter is robust enough to be used in the semitransparent mode allowing template and tracing capabilities.
