The visual effect in a directional backlight auto‐stereoscopic display is analyzed with Monte Carlo ray‐tracing technique. The effect of microstructures on the luminescence uniformity on a liquid crystal screen is simulated and experimentally investigated. Linear Fresnel focusing lens deviating from the ideal case is studied specifically as an image focusing element.
