Displays for the medical and avionics market demand for operational lifetimes of up to 100.000 hours and typically 500 h at 85°C/85%RH. Recent developments with blue pumped backlight solutions employing color conversion foils are sensitive to differential aging leading to a shift toward blue over lifetime. It is argued that the proprietary ARPHOS® technology based on inorganic phosphors solves these problems with minor performance loss.
