Light extraction of organic light‐emitting device has been successfully enhanced by preparing on a plastics substrate. We describe optical design method of mode conversion for reducing optical losses in waveguide and evanescent modes by introducing a new cathode and a plastic substrate. The phosphorescent green light emitting device exhibits higher light extraction by a factor of 2–3.
