In this paper, we propose a method to extend the viewing field of a compressive light field display by optimizing the maximum viewing angle. The difference from existing work is the improvement in the overall visual effect of compressive light field display rather than only extending the viewing field region. Sliding window scanning and viewer detection are also used for determining the target region and optimizing the display. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method provides a relatively desirable improvement for the whole visual effect of compressive light field display, especially for the performance in the non‐target display region.
