Compared with the supernatant of control mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) (top right), the supernatant from MSCs treated with interferon‐γ and tumor necrois factor‐α (bottom left) accelerated the reepithelialization of cutaneous wound, as shown by the increased presence of proliferating keratinocytes. Sections of skin tissues obtained on day 6 post‐injury were immunostained for proliferating keratinocytes with antibodies against proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA, red) and cytokeratin 14 (green). The nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue). See Zhu et al. beginning on page 1218 .
