When Tyler Scheuer, a student teacher and physical education major, asked Jennifer Fonseca, M.Ed., to help him develop a résumé to help him find a job after his college graduation, he didn't know his career path would soon take a dramatic turn. As the two chatted, Fonseca learned he wanted to join the Blue Man Group, a performance art company, even though he was on track to become a P.E. teacher. In fact, Scheuer had a knack for giving performances that involved balancing unusual items on his face, and he, and audience members, loved it. She challenged Scheuer to research what various half‐time acts charged and to call individuals who book half‐time acts. Surprised at the demand and the earning potential, Scheuer took Fonseca up on her offer to help him develop a performance‐based résumé. He soon started his own business, and, according to Fonseca, he now earns six figures ( www.amazingtyler.com/ ).
