ARLINGTON, Va. — Campus threat assessment teams often do a great job at assessing potential threats but struggle with knowing what next steps to take to successfully manage the situation. Beth Devonshire, J.D., Consultant; and Cathy Cocks, Associate, both with D. Stafford & Associates, explained how student affairs professionals can develop logical next steps to follow after conducting threat assessments. During a presentation at the Association for Student Conduct Administration's annual conference, they offered guidance for applying investigative themes and questions and developing a mitigation plan.
