BOSTON — Nearly half of the nation's college students deal with food insecurity, according to some studies, and that can interfere with their ability to succeed. Hungry students end up forced to choose between paying for food or tuition, or skip class so they can go to an event offering free food. Students facing food insecurity often don't know where their next meal will come from and sometimes have to skip meals, which can impact their mood, behavior, focus, attention, academics, and mental health.
