Columbus State Community College is one of the largest public higher education institutions in Ohio, serving more than 26,000 full‐time students annually. “With part‐time students, students pursuing certification, and other types of training, we typically have about 47,000 students on campus regularly,” said Sean Asbury, chief of police at CSCC. In addition, CSCC has two campuses: one in downtown Columbus and the other in the suburbs. Although the campus in the suburbs is staffed only during the hours the campus is open, the Columbus campus employs security staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
