To improve student persistence and completion rates, start by using data to understand your students and plan initiatives. At Saint Joseph's University in Pennsylvania, first‐year retention rates increased from 85.5 percent to 89 percent, and six‐year graduation rates increased from 77 percent to 79 percent over a five‐year period.
