Traveling wave solutions are sought for a model of combustion in a porous medium. The problem is formulated as a nonlinear eigenvalue problem for a system of ordinary differential equations of order four, defined over an infinite interval. A shooting method is used to prove existence, and a priori bounds for the solution and parameters are obtained.
