Cooling of viscoelastic material from high temperature to room temperature is reconsidered for a set of constitutive equations different from those used in a recent paper. For simple geometries such as plates, cylinders and spheres, the basic equations reduce again to a Volterra‐type integrodifferential equation, to which the results of the earlier paper apply.
