On the cover : Collecting solid waste samples from an old open dump site located in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. The collected samples from 2.5 – 5 m depth from the site were screened to separate the “soil‐like” fraction and investigated the gas diffusivity and water retention characteristics in different size groups.
