A method was proposed by Beck et al . ( IEEE Trans Automatic Control , 1996; 41 : 1466–1477), for reducing an LFT system with linear time varying model uncertainties. This paper extends this method to the case of linear time invariant model uncertainties, by computing on a finite frequency interval frequency‐dependent generalized grammians. The original method by Beck et al . is proved to be equivalent to the computation of constant generalized grammians on the infinite frequency interval (−∞,+∞).
