SUMMARY This paper studies the problem of output regulation for a class of switched nonlinear systems. Sufficient conditions for the problem to be solved are presented in terms of the average dwell‐time scheme. These conditions are obtained based on full information feedback laws and error feedback laws, respectively. The results extend the output regulation theory for non‐switched nonlinear systems to switched nonlinear systems. A simulation example also shows the validity of the results.Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
