Griffiths, and the publisher Wiley Blackwell. The retraction has been agreed due to overlap with the following article by P Simmonds, Genetic diversity and evolution of hepatitis C virus fifteen years on, published in Journal of General Virology, 2004, 85, 3173–3178.
