Off‐site reclamation and incineration of residues proved to be the most efficient and cost‐effective solution for remediation of the Broderick Wood Products Superfund site, a closed‐down wood‐preserving plant outside of Denver, Colorado. More than 3,200 cubic yards of hazardous K001 creosote sludge were removed and recovered at a total cost of only $3.1 million.
