Analytical and numerical procedures are described for the evaluation of the following functions:The contour Γ, for the integrals in the complex t plane, may be taken from ∞ e − i 2π/3 along a straight line to 0 and then out along the real axis to + ∞. In addition, and where Ai , Bi , Ai ′, and Bi ′ are Airy functions in the standard notation. The real quantities X and x 1 and the complex factors q and q 1 are the parameters of the problem. The function V ′, which characterizes the pattern of a loop antenna on the earth's surface, is illustrated graphically for low radio frequencies for a mixed land/sea propagation path.
