The electron ionization mass spectrometric behaviour of dimethylindium N,N,N ′‐trialkylethylenediamides and, for comparison, of trimethylindium adducts with the related N,N,N ′‐trialkylethylenediamines, is discussed. The extensive decomposition processes observed under fast‐atom bombardment conditions are rationalized in terms of the condensed‐phase reactivity of the compounds under study.
