The formation of transition‐metal ion (M + Fe + , CO + , Ni + and Mn + ) complexes with cyclohexylamine (1) in a modified fast‐atom bombardment (FAB) source, and the reactions of various ion/molecule complexes, have been studied by FAB MASS spectrometry combined with metastable ion and collisional activation techniques. Multiples dehydrogenations to produce [(aniline)·M] + and consecutive [2H 2 +NH 3 ] elimination to afford [(benzene)·M] + from 1 prevail for all the metal ions studied. Furthermore, [(1)·][Ni] + and [(1) 2 ·Co] + ions underwent an unusual NH 3 loss. Relative reactivities of the metal ions and complicated ligand effects are presented.
