Mass spectsrometric investigation on the fullerence C 60 and C 70 was performed using electsdrospray ionization. C   60 − , C 60 O   2 − , C   70 − , and C 70 O   2 −ions were detected by reducing C 60 and C 70 using Nak amalgam in benzene + dimethoxyethane solvent. C   70 −was found to be much more reactive than C   60 −in solution.
