Detoxification of E‐destruxin into E‐diol‐destruxin, conjugated glutathion‐E‐destruxin, cysteinyl‐E‐destruxin, and phosphorylated‐E‐destruxin in vivo in Locusta migratoria is demonstrated using direct negative‐ion fast‐atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB‐MS) without the need for prior extraction or purification.
