Most deprotonated semicarbazones do not undergo the negative‐ion Beckmann rearrangement: instead, simple radical and/or neutral loss is noted, e.g., Me 2 CNNHCON̄H→[Me 2 CNNH − (OCNH)]→OCN − +Me 2 CNNH 2 . However, dimethyl derivatives do undergo minor fragmentation possibly indicative of a Beckmann rearrangement, e.g., .
