In this paper, the efficient evaluation of the atomic integrals I =∫ r 1 ar 2 br 3 cr 23 λr 13 μr 12 νe −α r 1−β r 2−γ r 3 d τ with one or two factors r ij −2is described. These integrals are necessary for a lower‐bound calculation for Li‐like systems using the method of variance minimization or Temple's formula. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
