A density‐functional theory for inhomogeneous superconductors at arbitrary temperature is described. The formalism leads to Kohn‐Sham‐type equations which are structurally similar to the Bogoliubovde Gennes equations but, in contrast to the latter, incorporate exchange and correlations effects.
