The investigations on nonclassical polymers [4, 6, 12] have been extended to a new class of quasi‐one‐dimensional hydrocarbons. The latter are characterized by the occurrence of an infinitely narrow nonbonding band, originating from a new type of structural peculiarity. In contrast to the systems considered so far, the new polymers exhibit a strictly localized nonbonding band.
