The influence of vibronic coupling between two harmonic CBO potentials with equal minima positions on the electronic absorption and emission spectra is investigated in the framework of our model using the variational procedure. The numerical results, being identical with those obtained through the vibronic coupling model of Fulton, Gouterman, and Brickmann, are discussed with regard to the longest‐wavelength electronically forbidden transition, its vibrational structure, and the Stokes loss.
