The results of model studies of the impact of electron correlation on the forced electric‐dipole transition probabilities between the levels of the f N configuration in rare‐earth systems are presented. The method of this investigation, developed by the present authors, has a different tensorial structure than the commonly used Judd–Ofelt theory. The detailed analysis of the corrections due to the electron correlation for several regular and hypersensitive transitions in Pr +3 and Eu +3 doped in LaCl 3 is performed.
