The method of Kikuchi, Hijmans, and de Boer for the calculation of order‐disorder phenomena on lattices is extended to the case when not all lattice sites are equivalent. The nonequivalence results from there being more than one kind of basic figure. The modifications of the theory caused by this circumstance are worked out for the Hijmans‐de Boer formulation.
