The molecular electrostatic potential and the corresponding electrostatic field are calculated for model monolayers of a phosphatidylethanolamine (DLPE) and a phosphatidylcholine (LPPC). The monolayer organizations corresponding to those of the crystals of DLPE and LPPC, as well as modified structures are considered. The influence of this organization on the electrostatic properties is discussed.
