The symmetry properties of a graph representing rearrangement of homotetrahedryl cation C 5 H 5 + initially introduced by Balaban are considered. The approach is based on the search for canonical labeling of vertices, following the similar earlier work on the Patersen graph and Desargues‐Levi graph. The order of the group is 120 and the list of all 120 permutations is given. By homomorphic reduction of 30 distinct labels to only 10 the permutations are reduced and correspond to those found for the Petersen graph, known to belong to the full symmetric group S 5 . This also established the symmetry group for rearrangement of C 5 H + 5 as S 5 .
