Expressions are formulated for the correlated treatment of photoionization cross sections using Feynman‐Dyson amplitudes of the electron propagator to describe the ionization processes and an orthogonalized plane wave description for the photoelectron. Explicit equations are derived for the theoretical treatment of experimental cross sections using either spherical grid deflection‐type spectrometers or those using a particular collection angle. A scheme is suggested for systematic improvement of the theoretical description.
