Some structural features of the diagonal problem of reduced density matrix theory are investigated by considering the cone B r introduced elsewhere. In some special cases, we discover a very tight connection between the group structure of G r , the invariance group of B r , and the convex structure of B r . We also state a general theorem that relates the convex structure of B r to the group structure of G r .
