We present an equation for the dynamic longitudinal staggered susceptibility of a uniaxial antiferromagnet which is appropriate for analysing inelastic neutron scattering data in the vicinity of the Neel point. A tentative interpretation of the recent results of Schulhof and coworkers for MnF 2 is outlined.
