The MgSO 4 effect as a hydroxyl radical scavenger in the LPO process on POPC membranes is explained in e25423 by Ruette and his colleagues using classical MD and QC calculations. The Mg salt forms a contact ion pair adsorbed on the membrane close to phosphate groups. A radical stabilization by resonance, due to spin density dispersion on SObonds, was obtained by • OH‐MgSO 4 interaction. (DOI: 10.1002/qua.25423 ).
