Increased levels of acetylcholine, obtained by reversible inhibition of acetilcolinesterase (AChE), is linked to improvement of the cognitive profile of Alzheimer's patients. New cardol derivatives, non‐isoprenoid lipids extracted from cashews, are investigated in the cover article by Alessandra S. Kiametis, João B. L. Martins, Luiz A. S. Romeiro and Ricardo Gargano on page 1461 as potential AChE inhibitors by considering possible ligand‐receptor interactions, and their molecular descriptors. These descriptors are used in a principal component analysis to determine a small set of most favorable structures to act as AChE inhibitors for further investigation.
