We propose a method of generating an ultrabroad extreme ultraviolet continuum spectrum with a two‐color scheme. By combining a phase‐stabilized few‐cycle laser pulse and its subharmonic laser, the electron quantum paths in the laser field are significantly modulated, a broadened continuum spectrum of 190 eV can be obtained, and an isolated 85 attosecond (as) pulse is generated. By increasing the intensity of the subharmonic controlling pulse, the continuum spectrum is extended effectively and a single 53 as pulse is predicted. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
