Abstract We consider a quantum particle in a space with a linear topological defect, i.e., disclination. The effect of the uniform electric field in this space, on the particle, is shown to cause a translation of the wave function. In addition, the electric field is not found to be affected by the defect. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2005
