The complementary weibull distribution: Unknown or just forgotten?

A lifetime model is put forward, which at first glance is very similar to the Weibull distribution, but has quite different properties, being of special interest for practitioners. Three examples are given as an evidence of a wide applicability. A ‘successor’ to the commonly criticized exponential distribution is proposed.
