Abstract A comparison test between a bivane and two sonic anemometers is described. Results of spectral computations for two runs show agreement between instruments in a frequency range between 0·007 and 0·375 cycles sec −1 . Coherence plot shows good agreement over the entire range between the two sonic anemometers and up to 0·15 cycles sec −1 between the bivane and either sonic anemometer.
