The Rose/Farbrother three‐raingauge instrument was used to measure bearing and inclination of rainfall at Mazoe, Southern Rhodesia. Heavy falls of rain (more than 0·5 in.) were found to be associated with small angles of inclination with the vertical. Three‐quarters of the rainfall was from the east and south in the sector 045° to 195°.
