This article describes our experience in the implementation of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) in a research group of the Department of Microbiology in the University of Barcelona (UB). Some issues relating to quality assurance in a research laboratory setting are reviewed, and several comments and suggestions arise from our experience in setting up GLP.
