A new study that confirmed the effect of topiramate in reducing heavy‐drinking days in patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD) did not find a moderating effect of the rs2832407 genotype on study outcomes. The latter finding contradicted previous research suggesting an association between the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and AUD treatment response.
